The groundwork they have to lay is social, but it can take many forms. They might have to win a war, start a religion, or change the colony’s socioeconomic system. In seven years. Because when those Academics finally get into orbit after their now nine year journey, there’s no force in the universe that could keep them off the surface.

Luke Crane, John Tornolutkin, and I will be running extended demos at the Compleat Strategist booth all weekend, so the answer is… sorta? Luke will be demoing Mouse Guard and Burning Wheel, and John will be demoing Super Gatchapon Fighter Omega Infinity, which is a surprisingly tactical Street Fighter-looking game.
I’d love to play some Human Contact with you — stop by the booth with a friend, and we’ll see what worlds the Academy encounters! I’m gonna post the schedule for our demos shortly, but the quick rundown is:
Friday: 4PM and Midnight; Saturday: 10AM, 6PM, Midnight; Sunday: 10AM, 6PM.
