Most of these questions are based on the information contained in the wiki nd re fundamentally about the procedures of play in Human Contact.

Joshua, you note that HC is divided into chapters and that the first chapter takes place on the starship, the second chapter on the colony. To be totally clear: do you mean that each of these chapters represents an individual game of Shock: that specifically looks at that given situation?

If that's the case, do you have any examples of appropriate shocks for use in chapter 1?

More to come, but this will start things off!

Quite so. What I've noticed over the last couple of months is that, if you start out contrasting the two societies, it's hard to have sympathy for both, and that violates Rule Zero.

If that's the case, do you have any examples of appropriate shocks for use in chapter 1?

The Shock for chapter 1 is life on the starship. The Shock for chapter 2 should be a "normal" one, determined in play. This is something that makes this planet and its societies really different from ours, the players'.
