Pioneer 1

I’m really excited to get to see this. $30000 of funding made this entire series (of which $27k+ has been raised — if you like it, donate!).

This is the future of media, everyone. Artists making money making art. I hope it works. I might just fire up Kickstarter to make sure I can afford to make Human Contact the thing I want it to be.

Edit: Not bad! Now I want to see the rest of the series!

Nice, low-key X-Files/(British) Ultraviolet vibe, but they need to do a better job with their titles. “‘Sky Sweeper’ ASTROLOGICAL Survey?!?” Sophie is spelled one way in captions and another in the end titles, and “Frank” isn’t in the end titles by that name.

Other than those minor nitpicks, this is really exciting, both as drama and as new production/distribution model.

Yeah, they definitely need an editor for the copy. But I’m balls-out excited about the model being able to produce work like this.

Now: why the hell didn’t I know you commented until now?

This reminds me of Stranger Things… what happened to them, anyway? Haven’t updated since last year =( But they put out some good stuff.

I just watched the first Stranger Things. I like anthology format shows a lot for spec fic — they encourage exploration of lots of ideas, and these brief episodes might fulfill that.

    [Spoilers]

Still, I wish the maggot things had turned out to be God.

The last of those, Disconnect, was definitely the best. The other ones seem to be the dude wrestling with Christianity, which just isn’t my fight.
